How to apply decals!

Always wanted to have your army looking its finest with decals but they apply wrinkly or trying to apply it a curved surface? Well look no further as this tutorial shall guide you through what you need!

 

What you will need!

Step 1

Cut out the decal (I know obvious right)

Step 2

Soak the decal in water for about 30-45 seconds or until the decal is soft enough to move off the paper

Step 3

Apply Decal Fixer to the area you wish to apply the transfer, this sets a smooth area for the decal to apply too and protects your paint job!

Step 4

Use your tweezers and brush to slide the decal onto the miniature, be sure to be careful applying the decal so it lands accurately and straight. Don’t be worried if it doesn’t fit flush.

Step 5

Allow the decal to set for around 1-2 minutes. If the decal hasn’t set flush due to it being at an angle (shoulder pad) apply a thin layer or two of Decal Softener, with this, less is more as it breaks down the decal and makes it more brittle. If overworked, this can tear!

Step 6 (Bonus)

You may notice that the decal will look glossy, using a matt varnish like Citadel Technical Stormshield will mute the gloss finish and give it that final touch!

After those steps, you should find that your decal is nice, smooth and makes your mini POP!
